The research work at FSCN is a cooperation with competencies within Mid Sweden University, other universities, institutes and the industry within Sweden and abroad. FSCN has very good relation and close cooperation with the local community and industry. This cooperation is important and gives FSCN a unique opportunity to discuss and decide on future work. |

Mid-Sweden University with its Electronics Design Division is Sensible Solutions origin and now its closest partner.
The Electronic Design Division is coordinating a multidisciplinary research project under the name Electronic Systems for Sensible Things that Communicate sponsored by the KK-foundation. The project focus on the development of new technology for intelligent products that have an electronic identity, are sensing their environment and communicates in an intelligent way with the surrounding world. The project involves researches from electronics, telecommunication and computer science.
Faculty are at the present five professors, four docents and eight doctors together with a large number of Ph.D. students. This makes for the moment a total of over 35 employees. The funding are mainly by the KK-foundation, European Union and the Swedish Research Council. The annual turnaround of the division is about 25Msek which corresponds to about 15% of Mid Sweden Universites total research budget.
The research resources include 250 m2 cleanroom facilities for fabrication of semiconductor device structures. To support the need of scientific calculations and simulation, the division has its own Super computer centre, EDC2 , with a total computing capacity of 125Gflops.
